Do you feel your ultrasonic cleaning tank is not cleaning properly, or that it needs too many chemicals to get the job done? There is a simple way to check.
Watch this short video and try the ultrasonic cleaner foil test yourself.
How to test an ultrasonic cleaner with aluminium foil
Place a sheet of aluminium foil in the tank and run it for one minute. If the foil is not perforated after one minute, your equipment is not delivering the performance it should.
Why the foil test works?
Ultrasonic cleaning works through cavitation. High-frequency sound waves create millions of tiny bubbles in the liquid. When these bubbles collapse, they release small bursts of energy that lift dirt from the surface of the parts.
In a tank that is working well, this energy is strong enough to pit and perforate thin foil. If the foil stays intact, cavitation is weak, and cleaning may depend on more chemicals than it should.
