I pellet di CO\u2082 solida colpiscono la superficie contaminata a -78,5 \u00b0C, raffreddando rapidamente lo strato di contaminazione e creando una contrazione termica differenziale che frattura e rilascia il deposito. La CO\u2082 poi sublima, trasformandosi in gas, fornendo un effetto di micro-espansione che rimuove la contaminazione allentata senza contatto abrasivo con la superficie dello stampo.  <\/p><p style=\"margin-top: 12px;\">Il processo non lascia alcun supporto di pulizia secondario. Rimane da estrarre solo la contaminazione rimossa.
